BE FEARLESS IN THE PURSUIT OF WHAT SETS YOUR SOUL ON FIRE - TRAVELLING!
When I hear the term traveling solo, the first word that comes right to the top of my head is “Liberating”.
For ages in our country, it has been seen almost like a taboo for a woman to travel by herself for various reasons such as conservative mindset, tradition, religion, responsibilities, or what society would say about it. Traveling solo is equivalent to breaking free of all such stereotypes, rules , and regulations imposed on us women. For some, it also acts as a cathartic release.
When we’re traveling alone in unknown locales, we’re faced with many challenges and surprises. I believe this is what awakens our sleeping senses and teaches us to become braver and make responsible and wise decisions as we go. The odds of facing our fears are at an all-time high and there is no route to escape. We’re by ourselves to face it head-on and overcome our fears.
While the comfort of familiarity is not present, one could take this as an opportunity to get out of their comfort zone. Time and again it has been proved that pushing oneself out of their comfort zone is what makes us learn and grow. And surely, life is all about learning and growing.
For whatever reason, through our journey in life, we become wary of trusting. For instance, as crazy as this might sound, trusting that your fellow travelers or the locals of whatever places you’re traveling through, will not spike your drink or rob you of your belongings and striking conversations with them, could open up a whole new world of thoughts and perspectives. We could say that traveling solo is riding a roller coaster in a way
On the fun side, it allows us to make new friends leading to mind-opening conversations and different trains of thoughts. This not only helps in just learning but also making us realize how we could handle our personal situations differently.
One quote that I relate with the most is - “Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” ― Cesare Pavese
Travelling solo forces us to believe in ourselves, push ourselves out of our comfort zones, expand our minds, learn along the way, and grow as a person and more.
